SOME OF OUR PAST RESCUES

Mac1.jpg (34807 bytes)Mac:  Came to us from the local animal control where his owner had surrendered him.  He was just 1 yr old and was in pretty good shape.  He was slightly thin, had a really sore throat and upset tummy.  after a few days at the vet and lots of medicine, he was ready for a new home.  Mac was a little on the active side and was going to need some training, and he loved to play.  He now has a new loving family with kids and other dogs.  Plenty of things to do for this active boy with a side order of being spoiled (already sleeping in the bed).

Basil & Grindal: The odd couple.  These two guys were an owner give up, due to a new born being allergic to them.  They had been together for 6 years and needed to stay together.  They were extremely well behaved and loved to be around kids.  They now have the perfect home with a loving family of five.

Brutus: was a big boy weighing in at 80 lbs and only 1 yr old.  Brutus had deep cuts on his neck from a collar or chain, that were starting to heal.  He had separation anxiety and because of his size could really cause a problem when he got upset.   He was just a big baby with too much power and needed reassurance from a permanent owner.  Brutus found his new home woth a loving understanding owner willing to give Brutus the love and training he needed.

Joey: had the worst case of red mange we had seen.  His skin was terribly red and he had little hair.  Joey also had a staff infection on his head and was 10 pounds underweight.  He was lethargic and unhappy. He underwent dipping sessions, accompanied by medicated baths every two weeks for five treatments.  He was given liquid antibiotics and liquid medication to help fight the infection. Joey's redness slowly turned pink and then disappeared.  His hair began to grow in and he became livelier as he felt better and put on weight.  After 21/2 months, $478.00 worth of treatments and medications, and a whole lot of love and attention, Joey was placed with his new loving family, who had recently lost the bully baby of 13 years.

Victoria:  was found in an abandoned house chained up with no food or water. She was rescued by the Ft Worth Police Dept. Animal Control was called out and we made arrangements to pick her up at the shelter after the 10 day waiting period.  When we went to check on her she was gone.  After many phone calls and a three week investigation, it was learned that Victoria had been taken home by one of the employees, which was against their rules.  We were then able to pick her up and have her checked by the vet.  Victoria was extremely under weight, had ear mites, tape worm, mange and heartworms. After 6 months of being treated, over $500.00 and lots of love, Victoria was placed with her new family.  She is a sweet and loving member of the family and plays second mother to her new families little boy.

Sam:  was neglected and left outside for the first four years of his life.  He was taken in by a family member of his owner who wanted to help.  they began treating his mange but could not keep him and called us.  Sam had ear infections, a staff infection, heartworms and needed eye surgery to lift his eye lids.  Sams ears had become "cauliflower ears" from his chronic ear infections that had not been treated. Sam also has scares from his constant allergy scratching. After 5 months of treatment, over $700.00 and lots of love, Sam is a wonderful addition to one of our members family.  Sams allergies and ears are a constant battle and he can never get enough attention.  His adorable personality and good looks won him the honor as our  rescue t-shirt model!

Bagel:  was living with another female bully and her family.  Bagel was a healthy girl with a minor tail problem.  Her family was have problems with Bagel being a rambunctious  playful girl and the other bully in the family was recovering from cancer treatments.  They felt it best to place Bagel with another family.  Bagel found the perfect home with her best buddy Tre.  It was the perfect match, they both are full of energy and love to play. She's a very happy girl.

Harley:  was dumped in a remote parking lot and found by a kind lady that took her to her local vet.  Harley had dry eye, cherry eye, mammary tumors, yeast infection and has not been groomed  in a long time.  Harley looked like she'd  had several litters and then she was thrown away.  After surgeries, treatments and over $400.00, Harley had herself a healthy body and a loving new daddy.  Harley goes every where with her new owner and couldn't be more loved or spoiled.

Henry was abused and mistreated by his owner for 4 years.  One day, after being caught in his chocker chain by his owner, Henry had enough and bit his owner, breaking his hand.  He was removed from his abusive home and treated for eye and ear infections.  Henry was placed with a loving caring family.  Henry had difficulty trusting anyone and his new family worked very hard to let Henry know they were there to help him and love him.  Henry loves his new home and knows they would never hurt him and he would never hurt his family.  His new family feels truly blessed to have him.

Max:  was found by a sweet couple near their place of business.  Max was covered with fleas.  Max was treated but was left with scares from the back of his head down his back from scratching.  Max was also diagnosed with heartworms.  The couple attempted to keep Max, along with their 2 female bullies, but one of them did not care too much for Max.  the couple gave Max up so that he could be treated for the heartworms and be placed in a good home.  Max found a great family with two boys for Max to play with.  With lots of love Max has over come being timid and untrusting.

Molly:  was dropped off at a shelter.  Molly was infested with ticks, had infections and cherry eye in in both eyes and was extremely underweight.  Luckily Molly had a good appetite and gained enough weight to go through her surgery.  Molly did not get along with other animals and was very aggressive towards them.  Her new owner had another dog, but wanted to give it a try.  He worked hard with Molly and it worked. Molly still does not like other dogs, but her buddy at home is ok with her.  Molly is a plump, happy spoiled little girl with her new owner.
